Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials state initial examinations suggest the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in association with the incident," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have appealed to the community for details.
An important political figure said the incident made him without words and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
